Straight answers to the questions we hear most from customers across Fife and Scotland, from pricing and timescales to custom designs, preparation, aftercare and wrap removal.
What to expect
Pricing depends on the size of your van, how much of it you want wrapped, the complexity of the design and the vinyl you choose. Standard solid colours are generally more affordable, while specialist films such as metallics, pearlescent and colour-shift finishes can cost considerably more.
Send us your vehicle make, model and logo via WhatsApp or our quote form and we'll give you an accurate price rather than a rough online estimate.
It depends on the size of the vehicle, how much is being wrapped and the complexity of the job. A smaller or straightforward vehicle can take around a couple of days, while a full wrap on a larger van or a more complicated printed design can take several days.
Once we've seen your van and agreed the design, we'll tell you how long we expect the job to take before it's booked in, so you'll know how long we need your van.
There's no single lifespan for every wrap. As a broad guide, quality vehicle wrapping films have expected service lives of approximately 5–12 years, depending on the manufacturer, film series, colour and finish.
How the vehicle is used, stored, washed and maintained also makes a big difference. Once we know which film is being used for your job, we can give you more specific information about that product.
Bringing your idea to life
Not at all. We offer a full custom design service, so you can come to us with anything from a finished idea to just a logo and a rough description of what you'd like.
We'll develop a design that works on your particular van, taking into account the body shape, panels, doors, handles and windows. If you already have professional artwork, we'll check the files and confirm whether they're suitable for production.
Absolutely. AI can be brilliant for developing ideas and showing us the kind of look you're trying to achieve. The important thing to understand is that an AI-generated picture is usually a concept, not a print-ready vehicle wrap file.
AI doesn't necessarily understand the exact dimensions and proportions of your van, and the image it produces may not have enough resolution for large-format printing. Details, lettering, logos and even parts of the design can also be distorted or inconsistent.
That's why an AI concept will normally go through a graphic designer. We can recreate or redraw the artwork at the correct quality and adapt it accurately to the template and proportions of your actual vehicle. The finished design may vary slightly from the original AI image, but we'll retain the concept and overall look that attracted you to it in the first place.
Getting your van ready
Please bring your van to us reasonably clean and free from heavy mud, road grime and excessive dirt.
We carry out the final cleaning and preparation required for applying vinyl, but we're a wrapping and signage company rather than a vehicle valeting service. If the vehicle needs additional decontamination before we can wrap it safely, we can do this for you at an additional cost, and we'll discuss it with you before carrying out any extra work.
Good preparation is one of the most important parts of a quality wrap. What happens underneath the vinyl has a huge effect on how well it adheres, how good it looks and ultimately how long it lasts.
A van can look perfectly clean after washing and still have contamination bonded to the paint. Decontamination removes things an ordinary wash may leave behind, such as tar, traffic film, grease, industrial fallout, adhesive residue and other embedded particles.
These contaminants can interfere with the vinyl adhesive and can leave imperfections visible underneath the finished wrap. Proper decontamination isn't just about making the van look clean – it's about creating the best possible surface for the vinyl, which helps the wrap adhere correctly and contributes to its longevity.
Basic final cleaning and degreasing before installation is part of our wrapping process. If a vehicle needs more extensive decontamination, we'll let you know and quote for it separately.
No, it doesn't have to be perfect, but the condition of the bodywork matters. Wrapping vinyl is very thin and conforms to the surface underneath it. It doesn't fill dents, hide rust or smooth damaged paint – if there's a dent underneath, you'll still see the dent.
If paint is flaking or poorly repaired, applying vinyl over it can also cause problems with adhesion and eventual removal. Minor imperfections aren't necessarily a problem, but significant rust, peeling paint, or damaged lacquer or bodywork should ideally be repaired before wrapping.
We can have a look at your van beforehand and advise you. The better the surface we start with, the better the finished wrap will look.
How we work on your van
Yes. Where necessary, we strip parts of the vehicle to achieve a cleaner and more professional finish. Depending on the vehicle and the type of wrap, this can include door handles, mirrors or mirror covers, badges, trims, lights, number plates, sections of bumpers and accessible rubber trims or window seals.
We don't dismantle everything for the sake of it – we remove what's appropriate for your particular van and wrap. It allows us to finish the vinyl properly around edges and into areas that would otherwise be difficult to reach.
Yes. If your van needs to stay with us overnight while we're wrapping it, it is kept inside our workshop. For jobs taking several days, the vehicle stays garaged each night rather than being left outside.
Keeping your wrap looking sharp
A little care makes a big difference. Regular gentle washing is preferable to letting road grime, bird droppings, tree sap and other contaminants sit on the vinyl for long periods. Use suitable mild cleaning products and soft cloths or wash mitts rather than abrasive cleaners or brushes.
Be particularly careful with pressure washers around edges, joins and corners. A high-pressure jet held too close to an edge can force water underneath the vinyl and cause lifting.
Different films and finishes – particularly matte, satin, textured and specialist films – can have different care requirements, so we'll advise you about the film fitted to your van.
Yes. There are protective products and coatings specifically suitable for vehicle wrapping films, including wrap-compatible ceramic coatings. They can make the vehicle easier to keep clean and provide additional protection to the surface of the vinyl.
It's important that the product is suitable for your particular wrap and finish. If you're interested in having your new wrap coated, speak to us and we can advise you and arrange this through the specialist we work with.
Taking off old vinyl safely
Yes. We offer professional removal of existing vehicle wraps, vinyl graphics and decals. Removal becomes particularly important with older vinyl – films left considerably beyond their intended service life can become brittle, leave adhesive behind and take much longer to remove.
If you're thinking about replacing an ageing wrap, it's generally better to deal with it sooner rather than waiting until the vinyl has badly deteriorated. The condition and quality of the paint underneath is also important, so we'll assess that as part of the job.
It can, particularly when graphics have been on a vehicle for a long time. The paint underneath vinyl has been protected from some of the weathering and UV exposure affecting the uncovered paint, so when old lettering, graphics or a partial wrap are removed you can sometimes see a visible difference or “ghosting” where the vinyl used to be.
We can offer professional machine polishing after removal to help restore and blend the exposed paintwork and reduce that visible difference where possible. It won't correct every underlying paint issue, but in many cases it can make a substantial improvement.
Who we work with
Yes. We already look after vehicle branding for fleet customers, and we can carry the same visual identity across vehicle liveries, business signage, boards, window graphics, banners and business cards.
That means your vans, premises and printed materials all look like one recognisable brand.
Yes. Commercial van wraps and branding are a major part of what we do, but we also wrap cars, private vans, campervans and other vehicles – whether you want a full colour change, a partial wrap, graphics or something completely individual.
Absolutely. We're based in Fife, but we regularly have customers travelling to us from other parts of Scotland. Fife is our local area, not a boundary.
If you're further away, get in touch and we can discuss the job and logistics with you.
Tell us about your van and what you have in mind. We'll advise on the design, the film and the finish, and give you an accurate price.
